Kamp Pa-goh-sah
Kamp Pa-goh-sah Kids is accepting registrations for children ages 5-12 for the summer session, which will run through Aug. 27.  Kamp Pa-goh-sah Kids is a nonprofit organization hosted by the Pagosa Youth Center; the registration fee is $25 per child.

The camp offers two time sessions and price brackets -- a base cost of $100 per week for children who wish to attend from 10am-3pm, and a "plus" package for $125 per week for those who wish to attend from 7:45 a.m. -- 5:30pm.

For more information, contact Joanne Irons at 946-7545, or Jaye Price at 946-3127.

Youth baseball coaches and sponsors recognized
This year's youth baseball season ended July 1, and the recreation department staff would like to recognize the coaches and sponsors for all of this year's divisions.

We cannot overstate our thanks to all of the volunteer coaches and sponsors who once again stepped forward to ensure a successful season. Without the exemplary efforts of the volunteers listed hereafter -- some of whom assumed coaching responsibilities in three divisions -- administering an enjoyable program becomes nearly impossible.

In the tee ball division, we thank Keely Whittington, Eddy Huddleston, Yul Wilson, Rebecca Gregg, Jon Bollig, Larry Lister, Darren Lewis and Shane Bradley. In the coach-pitch bracket, thanks go out to Michael and Debbie Moore, Kody Hill, Matt Bowdridge, Josh Severs, Jimmy Henderson and Darren Lewis. Coaches garnering thanks in the 9- and 10-year-old division include Scott Anderson, Lisa Scott, Karen Ross, Kelly Miller and Darren Lewis.

On a similar note, we thank the following sponsors for their generous contributions to the program: The Springs Resort, Wilson Enterprises, Allen's Auto Body, Wirewerx Electric, Design A Sign, Pagosa Quality Flooring, Rocky Mountain Physical Therapy, Scott Strategic Investments, Area Best Heating and Air, and Ron and Cindy Gustafson.

Equally important to the program is the support from the participants, and we would like to thank all of the players and their parents and guardians for contributing to this year's program. As always, thanks again to each of you for your continued sportsmanship, dedication and support.

Youth tennis
The July session of youth continues this week at the Wyndham Resorts tennis courts; all registered participants have been notified regarding practice times.  Participants must have nonmarking-soled athletic or tennis shoes. The recreation department has some racquets available, but participants are welcome to use their own equipment. For more information, call 264-4151 Ext. 231, or Dale Schwicker, Wyndham Resorts tennis professional, at 731-3363.

Softball
Softball schedules have been posted on the recreation department link at the Town website. Schedules are also available from field supervisors each night games are played.

Players are reminded that all alcohol and tobacco products are prohibited on school grounds. Violators will be banned from the league and school grounds, and are also subject to prosecution by law enforcement.  For more information call 264-4151 Ext. 231.

Fountain
The Town of Pagosa Springs is accepting tax-deductible donations to be used for the maintenance and extended operation of the pump for Piñon Lake Fountain. Donations in any amount will be accepted at the front desk in Town Hall; checks and money orders can be made payable to Town of Pagosa Springs with "fountain" on the subject line.

For those interested in mailing a contribution, donations should be addressed "Attention: Fountain" and mailed to P.O. Box 1859, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. If you would like to make a cash donation, please do so in person at the front desk in Town Hall.

The fountain is now running daily from about dawn until dusk, and is tentatively scheduled to run through the end of August, due to generous donations from Wyndham Resorts, Archuleta County and the public.

For more information, please call 264-4151 Ext. 232.
